Facility Overview

Radford University Softball Field is home to the Highlander Softball Team. Located in the northeast corner of the outdoor facilites, the field offers several new amenities.

In the summer and fall of 2007, new grass sod was laid out in foul territory. With that, a new irrigation system was installed to cover the expanded area of grass. Finally, the dugouts and press box were painted and a new red wind screen in the outfield will be added before the 2008 season begins.

Renovations on the field started prior to the 2004 season when covered dugouts that include a heating system were built.

Upgrades prior to the 2006 season, included a fully enclosed working press box and an improvement in the fan seating areas, moving the primary grandstand area directly behind home plate.
