Radford University Baseball Field
Facility OverviewSituated along the banks of the New River, Radford University Baseball Field is one of the most beautiful places to watch collegiate baseball in the mid-atlantic region. One of the first intercollegiate facilities added after the completion of the Dedmon Center, RUBF has remained at the forefront of college baseball facilities of its size thanks to several improvements through the years.
Other recent renovations include the upgrading of the bullpen areas and the addition of a new wireless scoreboard that rises over the left centerfield wall. Both changes were made in 2006. The field features challenging dimensions, with straightaway center at exactly 400 feet. The park is 330 feet down the lines and 375 to the power alleys. The press box is an enclosed facility that has ample seating and amenities for working media and game staff. It includes a climate control system that maintains a comfortable temperature inside. On the field level are dugouts for both teams, designed to match the architecture of the Dedmon Center and surrounding buildings, as well as batting cages adjacent to the field on the first base side. |
The newest addition to the list of amenities for the Highlander baseball team is an indoor batting and pitching facility that allows Radford to practice year-round. The facility includes six dedicated batting cages, with the necessary equipment and amenities for either live pitching or machine pitching. Located adjacent to campus, the indoor facility can serve the Radford baseball team year-round, anytime the weather restricts outdoor practice. Constructed in the fall of 2007 the indoor facility rivals the facilities of several top schools and conferences throughout the southeast region, the hotbed of college baseball. ![]() ![]() |
