Whether you're a fan, alum, parent or student, you can catch the action of Radford men's and women's basketball all season long, home or away, on the Radford University Basketball Radio Network!

The Broadcasts

Local fans can catch the action of men's basketball on the Radford University Basketball Radio Network's flagship station, 107.1 FM WPSK, available worldwide on RadfordAthletics.com.  Play-by-play announcer and "Voice of the Highlanders" Rick Watson and analyst Jeff Kleppin provide the call, beginning with the "Highlanders Warm Up to Tip Off Preview Show," which airs 30 minutes prior to game time.  Along with the live game action, fans can tune in during both the pre-and post-game shows to hear insight and comments from Radford men's basketball coach Brad Greenberg.  Information on games not heard on the Network flagship can be found at RadfordAthletics.com.

Every game of the Radford women's basketball season can be heard locally on the network's AM affiliate, Timeless AM 1460 WRAD, as well as anywhere on RadfordAthletics.com.  Women's basketball play-by-play announcer Patrick Reed calls the action, beginning 30 minutes prior to the tip with the "Highlanders Warm Up to Tip Off Preview Show."  In both the pre-and post-game shows, fans can get the inside scoop from Radford women's basketball coach Tajama Ngongba

Men's Basketball Talent

Rick Watson

At the forefront of the Network is the "Voice of the Highlanders", Rick Watson. Watson, who serves as the athletic department's director of radio broadcasting, is in his ninth year as the play-by-play voice for all men's basketball games. A 1991 graduate of Radford's School of Communications, Watson is also the host of Big Dog Sports Talk, a successful radio call-in show in the New River Valley. He and his wife Tracy reside in Riner, Va. with their three children, Stephanie, Ryan and Ben.

Jeff Kleppin

Color analyst Jeff Kleppin forms the other half of the men's basketball broadcasting team. This will mark the seventh year he has served as color analyst. Kleppin has worked with Radford athletics and Highlander basketball in several capacities since his graduation with a degree in journalism in 1985. He also holds a Master's Degree in athletic administration from Virginia Tech. Kleppin is also the general manager of The Hill Golf Course in Blacksburg, Va. He lives in Radford with his wife Kathy and their four children, Makena, Carlee, Chet and Anna.

Patrick Reed

Patrick Reed is in his first season with the Network and also serves the university in the role of assistant director of athletic communications. A native of Roanoke, Reed comes to Radford from the news and sports departments of WLTX-DT in Columbia, S.C. Reed is a graduate of James Madison University’s School of Media Arts & Design. His radio resume includes play-by-play stints for Johns Hopkins University football and women’s basketball, and color analyst duties for James Madison baseball.

In 1988, Radford University became one of the first NCAA Division I schools to bring its basketball broadcasts in-house. In the process, the University became a pioneer in college sports broadcasting, and created the foundation which helped establish the Radford Sports Network as a leader in collegiate sports broadcasting. Today the Sports Network is still one of the most respected programs in the region. In addition, the Network has been the starting point for several well-respected voice talents, including Wes Durham, current voice of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the NFL's Atlanta Falcons and David Hunziker, current voice of the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
