LYNCHBURG, VA. –Radford's men's cross country teams participated in the 2008 New Balance Big South Championship on Saturday at Liberty's cross country course. The men's team finished tied with Winthrop with 151 points.  Senior Dawit Legesse (Springfield, Va.) earned All-Conference honors for his top 10 finish.

Legesse crossed the finish line in sixth place with a time of 25:54.14; this was his highest finish at a championship event. 

“It is a great accomplishment for Dawit to garner Big South All-Conference Team honors said coach McGranahan.” Dawit was confident going into the race and raced hard throughout. 

Senior Joel Hanlon (Winchester, Va.) finished in the top 20. Hanlon placed 17th with a time of 27:00.13.

Hanlon was also named to the 2008 Cross Country All-Academic Team.
