BOONE, N.C. –The Highlanders men'cross country team competed in the Blue Ridge Open on Friday. The Highlanders ran against their toughest competition of the season with many of the teams regionally ranked.

In the men's 8k race, senior Dawit Legesse (Springfield, Va./Robert E. Lee) continues to shine. Legesse crossed the finish line in 28th place with a time of 25:29 . Fellow senior Joel Hanlon (Winchester, Va./Millbrook) placed 69th with a time of 26:20.

The Highlanders will return to action on November 1st as they compete in the Big South Conference Championship
