CHARLESTON. S.C. – Freshman Mary Wiley (Radford, Va./Radford) scored both of Radford’s goals, including the game-winner in overtime, giving head coach Ben Sohrabi his 150th career victory and the Highlanders a 2-1 win over Charleston Southern in Big South women’s soccer on Saturday afternoon.

Sohrabi, in his 14th Radford season and 16th career campaign, improved to 150-125-28 in leading the Highlanders (6-6-0, 3-0-0 Big South) to their third straight win.

The tallies for Wiley were her fourth and fifth of the season.

Wiley’s first of the game helped Radford from an early 1-0 deficit.   Taking a pass from senior Jackie Cozza (Woodbridge, Va./Gar-Field) in the 22nd minute, Wiley chipped an 18-yard shot over Charleston Southern goalkeeper Jenna Lalich to tie the game at 1-1.

The match went scoreless for the next 75 minutes before Wiley netted the game-winner in overtime, as her 97th-minute shot was initially stopped by Lalich before it rolled in the net and propelled the Highlanders to the win.

Senior Amanda Heins (Sterling, Va./Dominion) was credited with the assist on the game-winner.

Sarah Catenacci gave the Buccaneers a 1-0 lead in the 11th, off a combined effort from Lindsey Trexler and Jen Vroman.

Radford sophomore goalkeeper Lisa Lubke (Columbus, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales), the Big South player of the week, made seven saves for the Highlanders.

The Highlanders continue a southern swing on Monday at Coastal Carolina.
