RADFORD, Va. – Radford women’s basketball head coach Tajama Ngongba announced that Katherine Brockett (Geelong, Australia/Kardinia), Ashley Buckhannon (Wytheville,Va./George Wythe) and Ema Reskoska (Ohrid, Macedonia/Veritas Christian (N.C.)) have signed National Letters of Intent during the late signing period and will join the Highlanders for the 2009-10 season.
Katherine Brockett
6-1 Guard/Forward

Ngongba on Brockett “Katherine is a versatile player with a great basketball mind. She can play on the perimeter or in the paint. She is a strong student and has a wonderful personality. We are very excited to have her in our basketball family.”
Averaged 17 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals per game, while shooting 43 percent from three-point land… Also lettered in cross country and netball… Kardinia’s school champion and all-region in cross country… Fourth Australian to sign NLI with Radford in last three years (men’s basketball and two softball)… Recipient of the Borwon Sports Academy commitment award.
Ashley Buckhannon

Ngongba on Buckhannon “Ashley is a great addition to our back court. She is a natural scorer that can play multiple positions and has a great work ethic. In the classroom, she is a great student and as a local player, she will have a tremendous amount of support from the community. We are very fortunate to have Ashley in our basketball family."
2008-09 Timesland Player of the Year… Finished career with 2,130 points… Hogoheegee District and Region C Player of the Year… Averaged 25.5, 4.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.1 steals per game as a senior… Netted 30 points seven times with a season-high 38 points against Auburn.
Ema Reskoska
6-4, Center
Ohrid, Macedonia/Veritas Christian Academy (Fletcher, N.C.)
Ngongba on Reskoska “Ema is a skilled post player with a tremendous amount of maturity and presence on the court. She is a hard worker and will be a great addition to our inside game. She is a quality student-athlete and we are thrilled to have her in our basketball family.”
Averaged 8.2 points and 5.6 rebounds for Veritas Christian in 2008-09 and was named team MVP… Selected to the National Association of Christian Athletes National All-Tournament Team… Member of the Macedonian U-18 National team… Played junior club in Sarajevo, Bosnia, averaging a double-double (12 ppg, 10rpg)… Earned numerous regional and national awards during ninth and 10th grade with Team Kimiko (Struga, Macedonia)… Came to Veritas her senior season under the school’s Matthew 28 Project, which is designed to help young people from war torn or impoverished nations to earn an American education.
Brockett, Buckhannon and Reskoska join Da’Naria Erwin Spencer (Charlotte, N.C./East Mecklenburg), Victoria Hamilton (St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands/Antilles School) and Sarah Tabb (Chesapeake, Va./Stone Bridge), who signed during the early period, as part of Ngongba’s first recruiting class.
