Radford Alum to Head Cheerleading Squad

RADFORD, Va. – Radford University Director of Athletics Robert Lineburg has announced the hiring of Catharina Tonetti as the new coach for the cheerleading squad and mascot program.

Along with bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to the spirit program, Tonetti is a 2007 Radford graduate.

A two-year varsity cheerleader while a student at Radford, Tonetti has also served as the assistant director for the cheer company, Cheer Excellence, since 2004 and was an instructor for the National Cheerleading Association (NCA) in 2009. Additionally, she has served as a competitive coach and judge for several high school cheerleading squads, and is AACCA certified.

Tonetti, 23, resides in Roanoke and is employed full-time with CCS.
