Men's Basketball Signs Robinson

RADFORD, Va. – Jeremy Robinson (Baltimore, Md./ Tallahassee C.C.) has signed an athletics grant-in-aid with Radford University, men's basketball head coach Brad Greenberg announced Wednesday afternoon.

“Jeremy is a mentally and physically tough point guard with experience,” said Greenberg, the 2009 Big South Coach of the Year. “He was a star HS player in Baltimore who led his team to the Public School City Championship. And he was an all-conference performer at Tallahassee CC in the ultra competitive Panhandle Conference, one of the most talented junior college conferences in the country.”

A 5-10, 170-pound guard, Robinson spent the last two seasons at Tallahassee Community College where he started 31 contests.

Prior to joining TCC in 2007, Robinson was a two-time MVP for Coach Douglas Robertson at Northwestern High School in Baltimore, Md. Along with leading Northwestern to the City Championship, Robinson was selected to the All-Metro second team and earned first-team All-City honors by The Baltimore Sun following his senior campaign.

Rated as the 38th best overall prospect in the Class of 2007 by Mid-Atlantic Hoops, Robinson was also nominated to the Baltimore City All-Star Team.

Radford, which returns four starters from last year's team, is coming off its second trip to the NCAA Tournament in school history. The Highlanders, who finished 21-12 and 15-3 in the league, became the first team in Big South history to win the regular season title after finishing seventh the year before.

The Highlanders will tip-off the 2009-10 season Nov. 13 in a 7 p.m. contest against Navy at the Dedmon Center.
