Crotts Named Big South Runner of the Week

RADFORD, Va. – Fresh off a second place finish at the Virginia Tech Relays, Lori Crotts (New Castle, Va./Craig County) of the Radford women’s cross country team has been named the Big South Conference Women’s Runner of the Week, as announced by the league office Thursday morning.
“Lori is a extremely hard worker, who sets high goals for herself,” commented head coach Ann McGranahan. “She worked hard during the summer with her training regimen and it showed with the best time at the Virginia Tech Relays against a strong field. It is exciting to have an athlete who will possibly place in the top 5 at the conference championship.”
Crotts’ two legs of 8:53.20 and 9:09.80 were the fastest by any female competitor at the meet. Crotts teamed up with freshman Hannah Scheren (Lovettsville, Va./Loudon Valley) to finish second overall with a combined time of 37:49.80.
