BOSTON, Mass. – Singles victories and a doubles win from Zack Watson (Timberville, Va./Eastern Mennonite) and Igor Ogrizek (Daruvar, Croatia/Birotechnika Grammar School) weren’t enough as Radford suffered its third consecutive one-point setback, falling to Harvard 4-3 in non-conference men’s tennis action at the Murr Center Thursday.

The loss drops the Highlanders to 2-7, while the Crimson improves 6-4.

Radford’s lone doubles triumph came at the No. 3 position from Watson and Ogrizek, who edged Alexi Chijoff-Evans and Joshua Tchan, 8-6.

Ivan Salec (Oroslavje, Croatia/Oroslavje Secondary School), who entered on a four-match winning streak, put the first point on the board for the Highlanders with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Chijoff-Evans on court one.

Watson also won in convincing fashion, defeating Tchan by a score of 6-3, 6-2 at the fifth spot.

Like Salec, Ogrizek recorded his fifth straight win and team-best sixth victory of the spring with a three-set decision over Alistair Felton.

The Highlanders will conclude their five-match “Spring Break” trip through the Northeast with a 3 p.m. dual at Binghamton on Saturday afternoon.
