TEAM / INDIVIDUAL LEADERBOARD

BEALLSVILLE, Md. –
Both Hannah Coles (Birmingham, England/The Coleshill School) and Jade Okamoto (Huntington Beach, Calif./Marina) opened with 78 Monday as the Radford women’s golf team sits tied for 10th following day one of the 2010 Hoya Invitational hosted by Georgetown.

Due to extremely wet playing conditions, tournament officials have shortened the two-day event from 54 to 36 holes.

The 17-team / 90-competitor event is being played on the Par 72, 6,127-yard Four Streams Country Club layout.

Coles and Okamoto are currently tied for 16th with eight others, while Megan Leineweber (Salisbury, Md./Parkside) will enter the final round tied for 46th after shooting 83.

Radford’s Maggie Watts (Paris, Ky/Paris) and Amy McCollum (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford) are well of the pace following rounds of 88 and 94, respectively.

Nova Southeastern (303) holds the top spot on the team leaderboard by five shots over Maryland and Yale.

The second and final round will begin Tuesday morning.
