RADFORD, Va. – Incoming freshmen Storm Melnick (McHenry, Ill./McHenry) and Emily Carlin (Downingtown, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) of the Radford volleyball team, were recently honored for their play at the club and high school level, respectively.

Along with leading her club to a second place finish, Melnick a member of the 18-under Club Fusion squad, was selected “Best Passer” at the 2010 PrepVolleyball.com Classic.

On the heels of earning a spot on the 2009 PrepVolleyball.com High School All-America Team, Carlin was voted Bishop Shanahan’s Most Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year.

Radford will open its 2010 campaign at the Duquesne Tournament Aug. 27-28 in Pittsburgh, Pa.
