RADFORD, Va. –
In addition to being the league’s most successful squad on the court the last two years, the Radford men’s basketball team placed a conference-best seven student-athletes on the 2009-10 Big South Presidential Honor Roll.

“I am very proud of our team's academic performance and especially proud of the outstanding academic accomplishments of the players who have made the Big South Conference Presidential Honor Roll,” commented fourth-year head coach Brad Greenberg, who has guided the Highlanders to an overall record of 40-24 and 28-8 conference record the last two years. “We try our best to recruit mature athletes who are motivated to excel on and off the court.”

The 2009-10 Big South Conference Presidential Honor Roll was released last week, and 33 men's basketball student-athletes were named to the annual list. To be named to the Presidential Honor Roll, student-athletes must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or better for the recently completed academic year.

Brad Greenberg’s club was the only league member to place at least 50-percent of their letterwinners on the annual list.

The following Radford men’s basketball players earned a spot on the annual list: Tolga Cerrah, Evan Faulkner, Joey Lynch-Flohr, Phillip Martin, Art Parakhouski, Lazar Trifunovic and Cole Wilder.

“To have four starters including two All-Conference members and the Big South Player of the Year make the Presidential Honor Roll speaks volumes about those players as true student-athletes. They represented Radford in an extraordinary manner and are to be admired and respected,” Greenberg said.

For the second consecutive year, Radford University led all Big South institutions by placing 58.3 percent of its student-athletes on the Conference’s Presidential Honor Roll.
