CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Weston Eklund (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) of the Radford men’s golf team recorded a tournament record eight-under 208 (67-71-70) to win the 2010 Boar’s Head Jefferson Cup on Sunday at Birdwood Golf Club.

A rising redshirt sophomore, Eklund led wire-to-wire while edging last year’s champion Nick Austin by two strokes.

Eklund was one of only four golfers to shoot under par during the second round and was the only one to break par on both the first and second day.  He opened up a five-stroke lead (-6) over his competition heading into the final round of play.
