RADFORD, Va. – Fueled by a 21-2 first-half run and four players in double figures, Radford women's basketball ran past Eastern Mennonite, 100-42, Saturday afternoon in its season opener at the Dedmon Center.

Jordynn Gaymon (Indian Trail, N.C./Sun Valley) with 1:45 remaining allowed the Highlanders to hit the century mark for the first time since Nov. 27, 2006 when Radford defeated Virginia Intermont 101-36. In addition, the last time Radford won by 50 was in 2007.
Ashley Buckhannon (Wytheville, Va./George Wythe) led all scorers with 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting, including 3-of-5 from long range.
Tiana Cannon had 15 points and 8 rebounds in her Highlander debut and
Da'Naria Erwin Spencer (Charlotte, N.C.) added 15 points to go along with a game-high 8 assists and 5 steals. Junior
Ema Reskoska (Ohrid, Macedonia/Veritas Christian Academy (N.C.) chipped in with 11 to finalize the double-digit scorers.
Radford dominated the paint, 56-6, with the Royals grabbing their first paint bucket at 9:40 in the second half. The Highlanders also scored 42 points off of 31 forced turnovers.
After Eastern Mennonite grabbed a quick 7-4 advantage, Radford found its groove a 21-2 run over a 4:11 span. Cannon and Buckhannon accounted for 13 of the 21 points in the run.
Kala Yoders was the lone Royal in double figures with 10 points.
Radford returns to the Dedmon Center on Wednesday, Nov. 16 when it takes on Winston-Salem State. Game time is set for 5:00.
