MACKINTOSH NAMED NORPAC EAST ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

RADFORD, Va. – Keyed by a three-goal output last week, freshman Stacey Mackintosh of the Radford field hockey team earned NorPac Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season.

Mackintosh capped off her week in style when she scored the game-winning goal with just over two minutes left in a 3-2 double overtime win at Appalachian State. Earlier in the match, she put the Highlanders, who were trailing 2-0, on the board with a rip from the top of the circle during a corner.

Just two days prior, the rookie defender scored the first goal in Radford's 3-2 overtime defeat against Davidson. Her three goals boosted her season total to a team-best four on the season.

Mackintosh and the rest of the Highlanders step out of conference play next weekend taking a trip to Philadelphia for a pair of contests against Temple on Saturday and Penn on Sunday. Both matches are scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
