VINCENT WYATT NAMED BIG SOUTH INDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Junior hurdler Vincent Wyatt has been selected as the Big South Male Indoor Track Athlete of the Week as announced by league officials Wednesday morning.

"I was pleased with the results from our first meet," said assistant track and field coach Mark White, who oversees hurdles for RU. "He only began running Oct. 1 due to his long season last year. It was good to see him compete well in his first time out."

Wyatt, who holds all 10 of the program's top marks in the 60-meter hurdles, won the event at the season-opening Liberty Kickoff by covering the distance in 8.08 seconds. He crossed the line in 8.04 seconds in the prelims to qualify for the finals. Wyatt's qualifying time is currently the best performance in the 60-meter hurdles among Big South athletes and is ranked 10^th nationally.
