BIG SOUTH CHAMPION WINTHROP DOWNS WOMEN’S TENNIS

ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Winthrop women's tennis team wrapped up the Big South regular season title Sunday afternoon with a 7-0 decision over Radford at Memorial Courts.

The Eagles (15-9, 9-0 Big South) went unblemished in conference play to garner the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Big South Women's Tennis Championship held in Rock Hill, S.C.

Meanwhile, Radford (6-14, 3-6 Big South) earned the No. 7 seed and will take on No. 10 seed Presbyterian College Wednesday at 10 a.m. The Highlanders prevailed against the Blue Hose, 5-2, two weeks ago at home.

Before RU competes in the conference tournament, the squad will play North Carolina Central at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in its regular season finale.
