KEMP NAMED FIRST-TEAM ALL-BIG SOUTH; COSTELLO EARNS ALL-ACADEMIC HONORS

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Radford shortstop, Jeff Kemp, has been named first-team All-Big South for the second straight season, and pitcher, Tyler Costello, earned academic all-conference accolades as well.
Kemp, who missed 12 games during the regular season due to injury and returned for the season-ending series with Liberty, led the conference in home runs (10) and in slugging percentage (.609). He was sixth in walks (31) and on-base percentage (.443).
The senior batted .283 for the season with 11 doubles, two triples, and 31 RBI. He fielded at a .945 clip in 200 chances at shortstop.
Costello carries a 3.82 cumulative grade point average with a double major in accounting and finance. He finished the regular season leading the team with six victories on the mound and a 4.35 ERA in 14 starts for the Highlanders.
