ALLEN, QUEVEDO TO MISS 2015-16 SEASON

RADFORD, Va. – Radford women's basketball sophomores Brittany Allen and Claudia Quevedo have suffered season-ending injuries as announced by head coach Mike McGuire, Thursday morning.

Both guards tore their ACL during a preseason scrimmage recently and will seek a medical redshirt for the 2015-16 season.

"We are obviously heartbroken for Brittany and Claudia to experience season-ending knee injuries," McGuire expressed. "Both had worked extremely hard to prepare for the upcoming season. We know both will have the same approach in their recovery and return next season stronger than before."

Allen and Quevedo played in 29 and 30 games, respectively, as freshmen. Allen scored a season-high eight points at Liberty, while Quevedo dialed up a season-high 19 points in a 67-65 come-from-behind win at UNC Asheville last season.

"While these injuries may be tough for our team, our players have already shown great resolve and love for one another," McGuire pointed out. "We will adjust and respond in a big way."

Radford plays an exhibition Sunday at 2 p.m. against Emory & Henry inside the Dedmon Center. The contest is open to the public and free of charge.
