RADFORD, Va. ---- Radford women's soccer and head coach Ben Sohrabi have announced the nine-person 2015 recruiting class.
 
"I am very happy with this year's signing class," said Sohrabi. "I think we have a great balance of talent in this class.  Some of the players are very technical where some are very tactical.  Overall, I think all of them have great character and love the game.  I think this group as they continue to improve will have a dramatic impact on our program.  I look forward to coaching this class for four years and hope to have a lot of success with them on the field, on campus, and in the community."

Madison Aguirre :: Forward Las Vegas, Nev. :: Palo Verde High School

Represented the Heat FC in Nevada … led Heat FC to 2014 Surf Cup title, where they allowed no goals throughout the event … crowned 2013 Vegas Cup champion and 2012 Surf Cup champion with club team.

What Sohrabi is saying about Aguirre: "Madison is a smart forward that is very quick.  She has a nose for the goal and puts herself in good places at the right times.  She is equally talented in the middle or the flank."

 

Addison Birotte :: Defender Las Vegas, Nev. :: Bishop Gorman High School

Named All-Sunset Region in Nevada … All-Southwest League … aided Bishop Gorman to a 10-3-1 mark in 2014-15.

What Sohrabi is saying about Birotte: "Addison is a very hard nosed and athletic defender.  She can play anywhere across the back and likes to attack from the back."

 

Jasmine Casarez :: Defender/Midfielder Moreno Valley, Calif. :: Canyon Springs High School

Accumulated 17 goals in her senior season for Canyon Springs … competed in the So Cal Developmental Soccer League.

What Sohrabi is saying about Casarez: "Jasmine can play.  Jasmine is very strong at all facets of the game.  She plays center back for her club and midfield for her high school.  I could see her in the back for us but I also see her as a playmaker in the midfield."

 

Jane Everett :: Midfielder Blacksburg, Va. :: Blacksburg High School

Everett led Blacksburg High School with 14 goals in her senior campaign … was named to the All-3A state team at forward as a junior … member of the 2014 Virginia State Championship team.

What Sohrabi is saying about Everett: "Jane is a competitor.  Jane is very strong in all facets of the game but her mental competitive drive is what separates her from others.  She is the type every coach wants and the type other coaches don't want to face."

 

Rachel Lehr :: Midfielder Berryville, Ark. :: Berryville High School

Named to the All-Sophomore team in the state of Arkansas … part of three state championships with Arkansas Comets … member of Region 3 Southern Premiere League Central Champions in 2013.

What Sohrabi is saying about Lehr: "Rachel is a creative midfielder that is always looking for touches on the ball.  She is very technical and has great vision finding open players quickly.  She is also a very attack minded midfielder."

 

Amanda Philip :: Midfielder Leesburg, Va. :: Heritage High School

Starter since freshman season at Heritage High School … represented the VSA Heat 96 Blue … took third in 2012 and fourth in 2013 at the USYS Nationals … tallied six championship titles in club competition, including the 2012 Virginia State Cup.

What Sohrabi is saying about Philip: "Mandy is an outside flank player.  She can play at the back or the midfield.  Mandy has great speed and a tireless motor of going forward on every attack wearing down opposing teams.  Defensively she's tough as nails as well."

 

Alyssa Rodriguez :: Defender Pembroke Pines, Fla. :: American Heritage School

Captain on American Heritage team that went 21-1-2 and ranked No. 8 nationally and No. 3 in Florida by Maxpreps.com …  part of American Heritage team that won three-consecutive Class 3A State title.

What Sohrabi is saying about Rodriguez: "Alyssa is relentless tough defender that is very comfortable in a possession oriented game.  She is a hard tackler.  She can be assigned and individual mark to be neutralized or is very comfortable in a zonal defense as well."

 

Ana Revollo :: Forward Haledon, N.J. :: Manchester Regional High School

Set Manchester Regional High School career goal record, recording 116 goals by the end of her senior season.

What Sohrabi is saying about Revollo: "Ana has fantastic soccer sense.  Ana is very technical and likes to go at players.  She wants to score goals and has the confidence to be a difference maker.  I think she will be dangerous up top for us."

 

Jessica Wollmann :: Forward Blacksburg, Va. :: Blacksburg High School

Named an All-Timesland first-teamer … Conference 32 Player of the Year … member of the 2014 Virginia State Championship team.

What Sohrabi is saying about Wollmann: "Jessi can fly.  Jessi has really great speed and can really stretch a team's defense vertically.  Jessi is also very versatile.  I could see her helping us at forward but also as a wide player depending on what formation we play."
