Patrick Reed was named Radford University's Director of Athletic Multimedia Services in July of 2010, after serving the department in his two previous years as assistant director of athletic communications.

His duties include providing online video content for RadfordAthletics.com, managing the Dedmon Center video boards on basketball and volleyball game days, and coordinating live game broadcasts on the Big South Network.  Reed is also in his third year as the sports information contact for Radford's baseball program, and the play-by-play voice of Highlanders baseball, which will have an expanded broadcast schedule in 2011.

In his previous two years at RU, Reed handled communications for men’s and women's soccer and as the men’s basketball secondary contact, and served as the voice of the Radford women’s basketball team on the Radford University Basketball Radio Network for two seasons.

A native of Roanoke, Reed has experience across multiple media platforms, including television, web content, publications, and radio.

Reed past experience includes time at CBS affiliate WLTX in Columbia, S.C.  While at WLTX, Reed was the producer of the station’s weekend football programs: Friday Night Blitz and Saturday Night Blitz. His responsibilities for the show included shooting, editing, writing and developing web content. In addition to football, Reed covered other Columbia-area and South Carolina sports, including college basketball, minor-league hockey and amateur baseball.  Prior to his time in Columbia, Reed had four years of experience in college sports information. In 2005, he became sports information intern at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, and handled the media relations, publications and web responsibilities for eight Division III sports, including men’s basketball and baseball.
