In 2010, Radford Softball continued its trend of improvement that has been a staple of the program for several years. The two-time Big South champions climbed several more rungs on the ladder when they reached the finals of the Athens, Ga. Regional, a first for any Highlander athletic program, and finished the season with a vote in the final USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 poll.

Along with several memorable moments and the shattering of several school records in 2010, Radford’s current four-year run under head coach Mickey Dean has accumulated 169 victories, averaging 42 per season. Tack on the 79 victories from the previous two years and the Highlanders are the winningest (248-121/.672) Division I program in the state of Virginia since 2005.
